SoCal Diesel 6480 Camshaft (LB7–L5P Duramax)
Choose Standard Fire or Alternate Fire
SoCal Diesel custom ground camshafts are designed to maximize performance by improving airflow and optimizing valve events. The camshaft is one of the most important components in your Duramax engine’s “breathing,” and the lobe profile must match the rest of your build to get the best results.
The SoCal 6480 cam is an excellent all-around camshaft for mild to moderate performance builds. It offers great street manners, works well for towing, and is a proven choice for single, twin, and compound turbo setups.
Includes keyway.

Alternate Fire Option (Crankshaft Longevity Upgrade)
Want to extend the life of your crankshaft? SoCal Diesel pioneered the Alternate Firing Order cam option for the Duramax platform.
The OEM Duramax firing order ends with cylinder 3 and begins with cylinders 1 and 2 — creating a 3–1–2 “hit” to the crankshaft. Duramax cranks are known to break right behind the first rod throw near the second main journal — exactly where this stress stacks up.
By moving cylinders 3, 1, and 2 away from each other, the alternate firing order significantly reduces stress concentration on the crankshaft and helps it survive more abuse in high horsepower applications.
To run alternate fire, a few injector pins must be swapped so the ECM commands the correct cylinders. Wiring diagrams and instructions are included with every purchase.
