The XDP X-TRA Cool Direct-Fit Replacement Radiator XD295 is an upgrade for the old leaking radiator in your 2001-2005 GM 6.6L Duramax LB7 & LLY. While the X-TRA Cool may resemble a stock replacement, the construction and design is far from it! The X-TRA Cool Radiators are specially designed with upgraded techniques borrowed from the semi-truck and HD industry. Unlike the OEM radiator, extra steps are taken to ensure added durability and strength to protect your cooling system.
High Efficiency Core
XDP's X-TRA Cool Radiators are built with a high efficiency core that has more fins per inch, and heavy-duty tubes to maximize cooling capabilities.
Internal Reinforcements
For added strength, special aluminum brazing techniques are used during construction. The reinforced end tubes and added strength at the outside corners protect the core where it is most vulnerable.
Gasket Design
X-TRA Cool Radiators feature a proprietary rubber gasket designed to withstand expansion, contraction, and the flex in the front end of your truck.
Revised End Tanks
Reinforcement ribs are strategically added to the end tanks to strengthen weak points. The plastic mix includes a fiber reinforcement that is added during tank construction to provide more strength over the factory tanks.
Upgraded Mounting Points
To allow the X-TRA Cool Radiator to stay securely mounted in the same factory location as the stock radiator, the mounting points have been upgraded for added strength and longevity.
Tank Attachment
To attach the end tanks to the core on the X-TRA Cool Radiator, a heavy gauge steel crimp strip is used instead of aluminum like the factory design. The heavy duty crimp helps eliminate tank and core separation failures that many experience with the factory radiator.
